Immigrant youth, first generation youth, as well as other youth, come check out this opportunity and learn all you need to know about getting into college!

Here a Message from Yazan,

OnTrac

I am organizing,OnTRAC, which stands for On-Training-Refugees-Accessing-College through the ACC’s summer post-secondary education access program

We will be addressing the basics of college access such as personal statements, Financial aid and scholarships, self-advocacy in a large bureaucracy. Yet more importantly students will graduate from the program with a strong network of their peers who they can reach out to as they all embark on their journey off the structured pathways of the public school system. We will also be exploring our identities and diverse backgrounds to further understand how our stories fit into the context of our current lives before we try to share them in any scholarship essays and challenging our selves through discussions and team building exercises.
To my knowledge this is the only college access summer program specifically designed for refugee and immigrant students. This program is open to any student with an immigrant background, not only specific for refugees.
I’ve attached our 1 page info flyer and application to this email.
I want to be sure that any student in Denver & Aurora with an immigrant background knows about this opportunity and receives the application before the end of April (app’s are due May 9th) and that any youth development professional who works with this population knows about the program as well.
