I recently wrote a book based on my seven years working around the planet as Global Leadership Development Specialist to the World Assembly Of Youth. I discovered there is a great transformation of societal structure taking place everywhere that will affect all of us in the next 10 years, particularly our young people. Some of these changes include:
- The Internet of Everything — where new kinds of jobs and income earning potential are emerging that our young people may not know about.
- Collaborative Commons — where business and social groups around the world are working together online to create mutually benefitting enterprises.
- The Sharing Economy — where businesses are being designed to make sure everyone can have access without incurring traditional debt.
- Ubuntu As A World Philosophy — where valuing our global connectedness is becoming the key to personal and community success.
- Massive Open Online Classrooms —- where everyone with an online connection now has access to world class education.
I list 45 of these trends in my new book Above And Beyond All That We Know: How To Thrive And Succeed In The Current Paradigm Shift. My particular concern is that the discussion on the world shift is not taking place among young people here in the United States in general and young people of color in particular. This puts our children at tremendous risk as well as our communities. Because of recent tensions around the country, we must now talk about a new direction beyond protests, marches and rallies. We can actually empower young people to get in on the ground floor of a new kind world that is emerging as we speak. A world that they will lead.
My friend and founder of the Denver Center for International Studies, Dr. Dan Lutz, is collaborating with me to host an international conference called Transforming Leadership Worldwide. The conference will be held on the Auraria Campus
October 7th – 10th. It will feature collaborative presentations with young leaders from around the world with students at DCIS on projects ranging from Indigenous Wisdom In The Modern World to Social Entrepreneurship to Feminine Principle Leadership. You can find out more at

I’d like to personally invite you to the opening night ceremony to be held at the Adirondacks at 7:00pm in the Tivoli Center. Hors-d’oeuvre and refreshments will be served. This is the kick off to a campaign where I will be doing workshops with 25 youth groups and schools around the Denver metro area about these world changes and how they can prepare best for them. I am bringing my global experiences back home.
If you feel so inclined to help us support the travel and expenses of those coming to Denver for this conference from as far away as Nigeria, Yemen, Cambodia and Nepal, please click here
http://www.leadtheshift.com/sign-up-now.html For everyone that supports our effort, I’ll send you a downloadable audio version of my book Above And Beyond. If you can’t make the contribution, please come to the event just the same. The subject matter is too important for us not to get in front of.
Please write back to RSVP and be sure to bring a companion that is working with young people in our community to see how we can support their successful efforts.
Help us make our young people — all of our young people – global citizens and champions of a new way forward.
