First Year College Experience survey, conducted by Harris Poll for The JED Foundation, Partnership for Drug-Free Kids, and The Jordan Porco Foundation. I’ve attached the infographic from this survey - you can also access the full report and data tables at the following website:

A few details as noted in their press release:
Most freshmen were unprepared for campus life in one important way: emotionally (60% said they wished they had “more help getting emotionally ready for college.”)
Emotional preparedness was a major factor in determining whether a student had a successful freshman year or not. The survey of over 1,500 first-year college students showed that those who felt less emotionally prepared for college when compared to their peers had lower GPAs and were four times more likely (22 percent versus 5 percent) to describe their first year experience as “terrible/poor.”
Half of the students said they felt stressed “most or all of the time” and more than a third felt anxious or did not feel as if they were “in control of managing the stress of day-to-day college life.”
Fresh Check Day

The Jordan Porco Foundation works closely with colleges to plan and fund Fresh Check Day in an effort to bring awareness of mental health resources and coping strategies to college campuses. It’s a celebratory fair-like event that includes: Interactive expo booths, free food, entertainment, prizes and giveaways.
Meryl Tom, the CT State Adolescent Health Coordinator, has worked with the Foundation to bring Fresh Check Day into high schools via the SBHCs. She notes that at least 2 state health department-supported SBHC contractors are planning a Fresh Check Day for spring 2016.
Fresh Check Day isn’t limited to Connecticut. If you or anyone you know might be interested, go to the Foundation website http://freshcheckday.com/.
