EVERYDAY YOUNG HEROES |
Kinsington Hammack-McClureSaint Albans, WVYSA honors thirteen-year-old Kinsington Hammack-McClure of Saint Albans, West Virginia for supporting and advocating for youth who are in the foster care system. As a young child in the foster care system, Kinsington worried that she would not find a forever family. Adopted at the age of five, Kinsington decided to educate her community about the foster care system and adoption, so that more youth find their forever homes. At the age of 10, Kinsington created F.A.I.T.H. - Foster Adoption Information Training and Help, whose mission is to help foster children find forever families, as well as provide items such as clothes, personal items, and school supplies for children that are currently in foster care. Through speaking engagements and fundraisers, Kinsington addresses the misconceptions of being a foster care child, in order to advocate for those who are in need of a home. For raising awareness about the 4,000 children in foster care in West Virginia who are in need of forever homes, we honor Kinsington Hammack-Mclure as an Everyday Young Hero.
